Best Hunting Crossbow:  TenPoint Nitro XRT

The TenPoint Nitro XRT is a compact powerhouse unlike any other crossbow that TenPoint has built in 25 years of making the finest hunting crossbows.  Positioned at the top of the foodchain, the Nitro XRT may be the best crossbow for hunting EVER.  Unleashing speeds of up to 470 feet-per-second (fps) and delivering an unbelievable 190 foot-pounds (ft lbs) of kinetic energy, the quiet and smooth-shooting Nitro XRT yields 25% flatter arrow trajectory, pin-point downrange accuracy, and devastating power, all from a crossbow that is only 7-inches wide axle-to-axle when cocked!  The reverse-draw design shifts the bow assembly weight from the end of the flight rail to the middle, giving the Nitro XRT superior balance and making it ideal for off-hand shootability.  The Nitro XRT is packaged with premium accessories like the ACUdraw PRO silent cocking mechanism, the EVO-X Marksman Precision Scope, and a dovetail bubble level, to further enhance the crossbow hunting and shooting experience.  All these elements combine to make the TenPoint Nitro XRT the overall best crossbow for hunting available today.

Best Hunting Crossbow – Value and Performance:  TenPoint Titan M1 and Turbo M1

The TenPoint Titan M1 and Turbo M1 crossbows are the fastest, lightest, and narrowest versions of these well-known models to date.  Both hunting crossbows employ a reverse-cam system to increase power stroke, enabling the Titan M1 to shoot up to 370 fps with 116 ft lbs of kinetic energy and the Turbo M1 to shoot up to 380 fps with 122 ft lbs of energy.  Both crossbows weigh-in just under 7-pounds, and, when cocked, measure a super-narrow 9-inches wide, making them ultra-maneuverable in the field.  When it comes to crossbow accessories, both models come standard with the illuminated 3X Pro View 3 scope, a TenPoint 3-arrow quiver, and three crossbow hunting arrows.  The Titan M1 can be purchased with a rope cocker or the ACUdraw crank-style cocking mechanism and the Turbo M1 can be purchased with the stock-integrated ACUdraw 50 SLED rope cocker or the totally silent ACUdraw PRO crank-style device.  Best of all, these models are available in packages that cost less than $1,000.00!   When considering the speeds that these crossbows shoot along with the cost, these are the best crossbows that TenPoint has ever offered at below the $1,000 price point.

Best Reverse-Draw Hunting Crossbow – Value:  Wicked Ridge RDX 400

The reverse-draw Wicked Ridge RDX 400 crossbow boasts perfect balance, lightning fast speed, and nock-splitting downrange accuracy.   The RDX 400’s ultra-narrow bow assembly powered by the Reaper Cam System enables this crossbow to shoot up to 400 fps and to produce 140 ft lbs of bone-crushing kinetic energy.  At only 9-inches wide axle-to-axle when cocked and weighing in at just 7.6-pounds overall, the RDX 400 is one of the most well-balanced, versatile, and compact hunting crossbows available today.  The RDX 400 is sold as a package and comes with TenPoint’s Multi-Line Scope, a TenPoint-3-arrow quiver, and three carbon crossbow hunting arrows.  Hydro-dipped in Mossy Oak Break-Up Country camo, this crossbow was designed for stealth and specifically with the hunter in mind.  Multiple cocking options are also available, including TenPoint’s patented ACUdraw crank-style cocking mechanism.  At a starting package price of only $759.99, the RDX 400 is the best crossbow for deer hunting for the money.

Best Hunting Crossbow – Value:  Wicked Ridge Invader X4

The American-made Wicked Ridge Invader X4 is the lightest, fastest, and hardest hitting version of the Invader hunting crossbow built to date.  It features an all-new stock and bow assembly configuration designed to be the ultimate in handling, durability, and maneuverability.  Both the stock and bow assembly have been engineered to utilize less material without sacrificing strength and durability, yielding an accurate and lethal hunting crossbow that weighs just 6.3-pounds overall.  With respect to performance, the bow assembly, comprised of 11-inch laminated limbs along with the 4S Cam System, sends arrows downfield at speeds of up to 360 fps and produces energy levels of up to 112 ft lbs!  When cocked, the crossbow is very narrow at only 15-inches wide axle-to-axle, making the Invader X4 one of the easiest crossbows with which to carry and maneuver through the woods.  This hunting crossbow can be purchased with a choice of stock-integrated cocking mechanisms, either the ACUdraw crank-style cocking mechanism or the ACUdraw 50 rope-style cocker.   The Invader X4 is also sold as a package, with TenPoint’s Multi-Line scope, a TenPoint 3-arrow quiver, and three hunting arrows included.  With a starting package price of just $559.99, the Invader X4 is one of the best crossbows on the market for your dollar!

Best Hunting Crossbow – Youth and Small-Framed Shooters:  Wicked Ridge Ranger X2

The Wicked Ridge Ranger X2 hunting crossbow was designed specifically to be used by young people and small-framed shooters in the woods.  Engineered to be ultra-lightweight with a shorter stock, shorter length-of-pull, and lower draw weight, the Ranger X2 is the best hunting crossbow for introducing youth, women, and small-framed shooters to crossbow hunting.  Fully assembled, the Ranger X2 weighs in at only 5.9-pounds, making it lighter to carry in the field, and measures only 33.5-inches long, with a shortened butt stock, to accommodate those who require a shorter length-of-pull than most available hunting crossbows.  The Ranger X2 may be smaller in size, but it is not lacking in performance.  The 11-inch laminated limbs and the 4S Cam System help to power this crossbow to shoot speeds of up to 330 fps with 85 ft lbs of kinetic energy – well more than enough speed and energy to harvest a deer at 30-yards.  The Ranger X2 comes standard with the ACU52 stock-integrated rope-cocker style mechanism that cuts the 150-pound draw weight of this crossbow in half, making the cocking process easy to manage for most shooters.  The Ranger X2 is sold as a package which includes the TenPoint Multi-Line Scope, a TenPoint 3-arrow quiver, and three hunting arrows.  At an entry level price of just $459.99, you won’t find another American-made youth hunting crossbow model with this level of quality and durability.  For youth and small-framed shooters, this is the best crossbow for hunting in TenPoint's line-up.
