Location: Michigan | Question: Does anyone have experience with both the Steady Eddy and Primos Monopod Trigger Stick?? I want to purchase one of them - have experience with the Trigger Stick for muzzleloader hunting - only issue is have to carry or hoist another item, but works great for steady shooting. With the Steady Eddy attached to the crossbow, would have one complete unit, but am wondering if it has the same capability & flexability? What about shooting with the Steady Eddy from a standing position? |

Location: Mid Michgan (troll from below). | Zero experience with Steady Eddy. The only advice I would give is if leaning toward Trigger Stick is go with bipod, not monopod. I own one, and it will adjust to any hi/lo ground adjustments you need and will keep your sway to left/right much better under control. Of course, each situation calls for different equipment. On ground, Trigger Stick can't be beat.(plus works great for rifle). Treestand shots will call for shots at shorter distances where Steady Eddy could help a ton, or not hinder as you can fold it out of the way. This is one of situations where you make the call! Easy call is to buy both (expensive), or decide which is worth it. |

Location: GREENVILLE S.C | I have the steady eddy and enjoy it. It works great and as you pointed out it is attached to your crossbow so its easy to carry. i have used it standing up and it also works great from that position.....sorry no exp with the trigger stick. |

Location: N26° 27.917" W90° 10.614" | I have a Steady Eddy and find that it works pretty good when hunting from a tree stand. I normally do must of my hunting from a ground blind and use a PoleCat Bipod. It extends and has a quick attach "adapter socket" that attaches to the front sling swivel. The legs are individually extendable so uneven terrain is not a problem. With additional adapter I can use in on any crossbow or rifle, Works great when sitting, kneeling or standing. It allows you to swivel you bow or firearm in all directions including up or down. By far the best shooting accessory I have ever found |

Location: Michigan | THANKS Bpowder & DaGriz! Couple of additional Q's for you: 1) Is the Steady Eddy easy to adjust length while on the stand? Does the Steady Eddy interfere with your sling?
Will look into the PoleCat Bipod. |

Location: North Texas | I've used both and much prefer the Steady Eddy. I use mine sitting or standing by jamming the "rubber ball" end into my left hip (right-handed shooter). I find this is an advantage because i can adjust my aim left or right, up or down without touching the device or moving stuff around - including my body, to get the right shot placement. It's really more a part of you while shooting. The Steady Eddy is easy to adjust (one hand) while on the bow and mine does not interfere with my sling. Once get to my hunting location (again, sitting or standing), I adjust length to a comfortable spot on my hip, and when game comes into view, I get my bow up and wait. This past fall, I held my bow up for over 20 minutes waiting for deer to come in at close range - 15 yards. I was able to relax without moving, so the deer never saw me (ground blind). A slight body twist for the right angle and POW! First whitetail with my new crossbow. I feel that if I had been using the trigger stick I would have gotten busted for movement. I do use the trigger stick alot when sighting in new arrows, etc. but the Steady Eddy is my choice. |

| TMASS, the Steady Eddy is my choice as well when i feel i need it for longer shots off my stand...for all the same reasons you have just pointed out. Only one difference, i jamm the rubber ball end on my right hip...Left Hand shooter..LOL!
I have several times done the exact same thing as you have while waiting for the deer to come out, or come just a bid closer to my range comfort zone.

Location: Florissant, MO | You can also order a third section of the steddy eddy to use for standing. The new piece retracts into the others just like the two piece. I order the third section when after falling from a tree stand I now need a walking aid. I am to young to use a cane. I also ordered the V attachment for on top and now use it for rifle and muzzleloader hunting also. The 3rd section can be ordered thru 10 point. |

TMASS?, I have heard several times thru out my long life that the RIGHT side of the brain controls the LEFT side of the body, and vise versus. SO, MAYBE?, I AM.....RIGHT minded...LOL!....mind you, i said maybe.
By the way when i first read your post you made so much sense that i thought you were a lefty as well. BUT, no, you are just from Texas ( I hope i did not open up a can of worms here) LOL!. I am getting confused now....LATER!
Larry, thanks for the tip on the mid section for the Steady Eddy. That just about would cover all my needs. I will call TenPoint tomorrow.

Location: North Texas | Gilbert - I knew you would bust my chops over the whole right-brain thing! Just can't get anything past a crafty lefty. What's this deal about a mid-section for the Steady Eddy? A cane?? I could use a cane! I gotta go check out the website to see what this is all about. By the way - have you ever tried to shoot your bow "righty?" just pretend you're me and when you exhale just before the shot, whisper "God Bless Texas." it will change your right mind! |

| Larry:
When I sent in my Phantom Xtra with the SteadyEddy that needed replacement in 2010 due to damage caused by an incorrect bracket installed by the factory, I as told that the third section was no longer available, and that I would have to personally remove the third section from the old and damaged SteadyEddy and re-install in the new one. It was a bear to do, but I'm glad I could do it since the third section reaches the ground while I'm standing. It adds a great deal of flexibility to my hunting situations. I personally believe that the third section should be reinstated as an available accessory for those that need it.

TMASS, i do not know that it would change my RIGHT mind being that i am allready Right minded....Maybe??. Heck, if it was to work even if i needed to correct my RIGHT mind i still wouldn't need a any of those reasons to say "God Bless Texas"...... BUT! i know it would probably work better if i was to say "God Bless Texas, and my Houston Texans". Why whisper???. LOL!! (Central East Texas)
By the way, i am abidextrious...OOPS! might have given you some ammo there.LOL!!. I told you allready, i get confused easily.
Crafty lefty? from Texas. LOL!..has a good ring to it. LOL!

Location: North Texas | Gilbert! A fellow Texan? well Yee Haw Brother!
I'm in the country about 40 miles south of Dallas and do most of my hunting west & south (hill country). I had a lake place & 350 acres for years just outside Mineola, north of Tyler and I'm an East Texan at heart. I still ride my Harley toward the big pines every chance I get - nothing like a face full of mating love bugs in the summertime!
So you're an ambidextrous Texas lefty with a confused mind who shoots a TenPoint crossbow - what's not to like? The only flaw I see is your apparent infatuation with the Houston Texans. Dude, I'd keep that a secret! |

TMASS,How can i delicately put this..mating bugs..mmmm?. I GOT IT!!!! ..SCREW BUGS would be a better name for them. You are right about East Texas and screw bugs. During that time of the year my friend i suggest that when you ride your Harley..buddy, DO NOT smile.
Are you good at keeping secrets??...OH NO!, you are a Dallas Cowboys aficionado???.... Now that needs to be kept a secret..LOL!!!!
I will tell nobody.
BTW what Ten Point do you shoot, and do have more than one..like me. After all Ten Points are like women, you cannot have just one. LOL!

| I better do some Michael Jackson moon walk about the remark i just posted about Ten Point Xbows and women.
The better wording should have been that Ten Points are like a good women. Only difference being that you can have several Ten Points but only allowed one good women.
No disrespect meant.

Location: North Texas | Gilbert - you crack me up. That's more of a tap dance than a moonwalk! We all know that Ten Point crossbows stand alone and cannot be compared to a women. Women, on the other hand, are really more like buses - if you miss one, there's another one coming along in about 15 minutes.
No, I'm only a one-bus man...just the Carbon Fusion I bought last summer. I would love to have more, but you know, Ten Points are like women...what would I do with another one? I can't handle the one I have now!
Here's one thing for sure - if my wife ever gets ahold of this post, I'll NEVER get another crossbow! |

| TMASS, you just do not let anything slide by, do you......Tap Dance??????LOL!. Where is this bus stop you are talking about. I am currently looking for one of those.
Hey one bus man, i see that you are a down right bonafide
Texas man that wears the pants ....WELL!... with your wifes permission. LOL!!!!!!. The thought of not being able to get another Ten Point scares the living h*ll out of me...lets not let your wife see any of this. I can keep a secret. LOL!!
Buddy!, when you put a bullseye on yourself I WILL take shots at it. LOL!!!
What is more painfull?...when she takes your Harley away?, or the Carbon fusion"...BRRR!, either way that has to be a painfull thing...so be a good boy. LOL!!

Location: North Texas | G-Man, I think they're running those busses through East TX several times a day. I'm thinking Tyler, Jacksonville & on down your way. Don't worry if you don't get the pick of the litter right off, be patient and like deer hunting - let a few walk. And If you don't see anything you kie off the first bus, there's another bus a-comin brother. It alwaysworks out that way.
I guess the reason I haven't purchased another bow is that I bought exactly what I wanted the first time. I did alot of research and finally settled on the Fusion. I don't know what else I would want because it seems perfect in every way. I heard TP has introduced a few new bows for 2012 that shoot lighter aluminum arrows which may fly faster. Can you recommend one or two more that you consider "must haves?"
I would like to have another bow and I've had this weird fascination with the PSE TAC15. Maybe not even for hunting - it just looks like a cool toy to own. Not sure, haven't talked myself into it yet... But maybe
Be sure & mention my name to those girls getting off the bus - they'll treat you just right.
How bout you - what's the next addition to Mr G's arsenal? |

| TMASS, this past year i bought one more Ten Point...the Stealth XLT. MAN!, did i luck out. This little narrow Xbow is a joy to carry into the woods, and to shoot in very tight quarters. Thou it is a little slower than my Phanthom i have yet to see a deer jump the arrow out to 40 yards.
My phanthom was demoded to "BACKUP". My Phanthom is of old blood. It is physically very heavy, the model before the Carbon Fusion. I guess i am being biased but it is hard to recommend anything over the Carbon Stealth over something else. But Ten Point has the models to suit anybody's like, & need. OOPS! i meant to say Stealth XLT. ..Confused mind?....that little beauty is working itself into my simple mind.
Remember, i am the one with the confused mind but i spend thousands in hunting, in Texas as well as out of state. I would hate to be in Bum F*?? Egypt only to have my Xbow play out due to an accident or whatever, and then having been a mizer...i DO NOT HAVE a backup Xbow?. This confused minded man just justified needing another Ten Point..LOL!!. Try that arguement on the BOSS!!!
Yea!..i am drooling over the Carbon Stealth Xlt for 2012.
LET SOME WALK??. heck buddy, at my age i do not know that i should let ANY of them walk. LOL!!

Location: Michigan | Hey Y'all....THANKS Much for all the advice....and all the humor between the Right Ones & the Lefties - I'm on the RIGHT Side myself - LOL! Based on what y'all have said, I'll be headin out next week to purchase a Steady Eddy. By the way, I'm a Michigander - been so for about for about 35 yrs off & on, but born & raised in the great state of Iowa, also lived in Ohio for about 6 yrs and Oklahoma for 4 yrs....so been around the horn a few times. Have had great hunting experiences in all, and now that I'm retired, can finally do all the hunting I want to do. Bought a Turbo XLT last fall and had a great time with it - harvested a nice buck + 3 does with it, and plan to use it for Spring turkey as well. Did also harvest a nice buck in Pa with rifle and a doe back here with muzzleoader - trying to be flexible and mix it up a little! THANKS again guys! |

| Wild Turkey? the more you bragged about all the game you have shot, the more i was getting convinced that you were a fellow Texan. LOL!..Maybe from TMASS's area?
But no you are from Michigan. Never the less you are forgiven. One of my better friends Darrel (DaGriz) lives in Michigan. I am not going to try to spell, least of all pronounce the name of the town he lives in.
Darrel, if you read this, spell and remind me how it is pronounced.
Rights & Lefties? One lefty mold, very few good ones made, then mold was broken on purpose, then he went on making the OH! Ok ones. LOL!!!

Location: North Texas | Wild Turkey - good luck with your Steddy Eddy, I hope you enjoy it. Eddy has become one of my best friends! Be sure you get the mounting bracket for the front of your bow, and the clasp that attaches near the rear stock to hold it in place while not in use. It's an ingenious device.
I've got a buddy on another forum - goes by Jack Pine. One of the most experienced and knowledgeable crossbow guys I know. He's also a Michigander but I like him anyway - yuk. Say hi to Jack for me if you run across him. Ask him to send you a pic of his blue blind! It's a hoot and he has actually killed deer out of it.
Let us know how you like your Steddy Eddy!
Take care, |

| When I got my ProSlider I first tried the Primos mono stick, it was very wobly. I traded it in for the Primos tripod. I really liked it but I'm a 5'5" female and it was too tall when I was in the ground blind and it seemed to limit my range even tho I had the "V" loose. I then invested in the steddy eddy for the remainder of deer season. I absolutely loved it hands down. I was able to move all around the ground blind with no sound at all. Hope this helps, Good Luck!! |
